TIMOTHY G. TIETJEN was born in Oakland and graduated with honors from California State University at Hayward before earning his J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco in 1982. While there he received the American Jurisprudence Award and clerked with Judge Ira Brown. He also served as an Assistant Editor of the California Trial Lawyers Association Forum magazine.
Mr. Tietjen has authored articles for the Forum including "Royal Globe Actions: From Birth through Infancy," 1984; "Government Tort Liability and Tactics Regarding Emergency Medical Services," 1991; "Defenses: Biomechanical and Other Issues," 1992. He has also lectured and appeared on panels on subjects including "Insurance Bad Faith Discovery," Premises Liability, "Evaluations and Settlement," "Trains, Planes and Automobiles," Ethics, Mediation, "Mediation for Plaintiffs' Attorneys," "Using Focus Groups to Present Psychiatric Testimony" and "Jury Selection."
Mr. Tietjen is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, State Bar of California, American Bar Association, San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (of which he recently served as President), Consumer Attorneys of California, and The Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
